A trainee prison guard at Heidering Prison in Germany thought it was a great idea to share details about his new job with his friends on WhatsApp but it went spectacularly wrong.
The trainee who is not named, and rightly so to avoid further embarrassment shared pics of cell and prison corridor keys on a WhatsApp group, not realising that specialist key forgers could easily reproduce the keys reports the Metro.
His actions caused a major security alert and with fears of a mass breakout. Prison authorities has no option but to spend €50,000 to replace all the prison locks and keys.
It’s unsure if the trainee will ever make it to a full time role within Germany’s prison system.
