The Department of Health is concerned with a large jump in the number of confirmed coronavirus cases after it annouend that no one had died from coronavirus on Saturday but that there was 231 more cases of Covid-19 in the Republic of Ireland.
In an announcement made on Saturday evening, the Department confirmed that there are currently 29,534 confirmed cases in the Republic of Ireland and a total 1,778 deaths.
It’s understood that the majority of cases were in Dublin and people younger than 50.
