The Department of Health have confirmed that there are currently 1,042 people in hospital with Covid-19.
In an announcement the Department said that the number of cases has risen sharply in past number of days.
However they sat that over half of the reported hospital cases are incidental meaning that patients have happened to test positive for the virus despite being admitted for other reasons.
Despite the rise in hospital cases the Department of Health say there are 42 people in ICU across the country meaning numbers are remaining relatively stable.
