The Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn has urged workers not to return to the office even though schools have begun to reopen.
Speaking at the National Public Health Emergency Team briefing, Dr Glynn said that although children are returning to the classroom people should not take it as a sign that it’s ok to return to the office.
Glynn also urged employers not to request that people return to the office as it would put the progress we’ve made at risk.
He added given the level of disease incidence rate at this present time we can’t afford to deteriorate.
