The good people of Ireland are beginning to fight back at what has been described as “draconian lockdown measures”.
The hashtag EndTheLockdown is trending around Ireland with people demanding that at least some restrictions be removed immediately.
People are asking for a minimum of the 5km rule to be lifted, for outdoor sports to recommence, for people to be able to meet outdoors, and for Church services to be allowed, including increasing the number of people are funerals.
Many people are saying that Micheal Martin, Leo Varadkar and Eamon Ryan are completely out of touch with the Irish public and that they’re not remotely as affected by the lockdown as everyone else.
Likewise, people are saying that civil servants, whose wages have not been affected, are making the rules for the rest of us.
