Did they die for this? Muslims to march on GPO in what some people are calling “a show of cultural dominance”

As the Muslim population in Ireland grows exponentially, the annual Muharram (Islamic New Year) procession which will take place on July 4, marching from Christ Church to the iconic General Post Office (GPO), grows larger and larger.

The GPO, hallowed ground of the 1916 Easter Rising where our nation’s independence was proclaimed and our patriots fought and died, now faces an unprecedented affront.

Some social media users are claiming that this event is threatening the nation’s historical identity.

Once a beacon of Irish resilience, the GPO’s transformation into a potential shopping centre post-An Post’s 2023 relocation mirrors a broader erosion of heritage. The 1916 Rising’s heroes, executed by foreign oppressors, became symbols of sacrifice; yet, today, their legacy today is overshadowed by foreign traditions as their people face becoming a minority in the country they gave their lives for due to the population replacement agenda.

Unchecked mass immigration, has led to the Muslim population in the Republic of Ireland rising from 49,204 in 2011 to 81,930 by 2022 per census data, with many on social media claiming that it’s replacing Irish youth leaving in their droves due to an unprecedented housing and cost of living crisis.

This procession, commemorating Imam Husayn, decapitated in a sectarian battle with fellow Muslims in 680 clashes with the GPO’s nationalist sanctity, igniting fears of cultural surrender. Social media erupts with calls for counter-protests, with users decrying the “erasure of our history.”
