Two officials have been removed from their position after a 16-year-old disabled boy died whilst his father and brother were in quarantine in China.

According to BBC News, the young boy named as Yan Cheng, died after his father and brother were admitted into quarantine for suspected coronavirus.

It is reported that the teenager who has cerebral palsy died a week after his father who was his sole carer was placed in quarantine.

It is reported that the boy was only fed twice during the time his father and brother were in quarantine.

The boy’s death gained widespread media attention after his father issued a plea for help on Chinese social media networking website Weibo.

In the plea the boy’s father said that his 16-year-old disabled son had been left alone without food or water.
