25-yr-old Amber Rose Cliff was diagnosed with cervical cancer four years when she was 21 after being denied a smear test for being ‘too young’.
Amber’s family had begged doctors to perform a smear test after she visited her doctor in Sunderland, UK 20 times after complaining of being sick and having severe bleeding.
Amber went to another hospital for the test and there they found she had been suffering from cervical cancer for several years and despite treatment she has sadly passed away four years later at the age of just 25.
Following Amber’s death, her family are starting a petition calling for women between 18-25 to be given the option of having a smear test if they have visited their GP twice with similar symptoms.
