
A Dublin taxi driver was assaulted and repeatedly stabbed during a carjacking incident two nights ago.
He picked up two men at around 3am on Saturday morning outside a fast food restaurant at Airside Retail Park, Swords. He then drove off and was assaulted a short time later at the Pavillions Roundabout.
The driver managed to escape the vehicle, and the men drove away in the direction of the M1. The taxi was later found burnt out near Bellewstown, Co Meath.
The driver sustained several injuries, though they are understood to be not life-threatening.
