Do you believe him? Ukraine will present ‘victory plan’ at Ramstein meeting, claims Zelensky

According to a message on Telegram by President Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukraine will reveal its “victory plan” on October 12 at a regular gathering of its allies in Ramstein, Germany, reports RTE.

“We will present the victory plan, clear, specific steps for a just end to the war,” he stated.

In recent months, Ukraine—which has been fighting off a Russian invasion for almost a thousand days—has hinted at a possible peace deal.

When Mr. Zelensky visited Washington last month, he gave the information—which has not been made public—to US President Joe Biden and the two front-runners in the nation’s presidential contest, reports RTE.

According to a spokeswoman for the US State Department, the proposal included “a number of productive steps” that the US would discuss with Ukraine.

However, the proposal lacked a clear strategy and was simply a repackaged plea for more weapons and the removal of constraints on the deployment of long-range missiles, according to unidentified US officials quoted in the Wall Street Journal newspaper.

Mr. Zelensky claimed to have visited the northern Sumy area yesterday, from where Ukraine has initiated a significant incursion into the Kursk region of bordering Russia, reports RTE.

Even while the speed of the advance has slowed and Moscow’s forces have started to respond, some two months into the surprise operation, Kyiv’s troops still hold large areas of Russian border territory.

“It is crucial to understand that the Kursk operation is a really strategic thing, something that adds motivation to ou rpartners, motivation to be with Ukraine, be more decisive and put pressure on Russia,” Mr Zelensky said, reports RTE.

The president expressed gratitude to the armed forces for protecting Ukraine’s territorial integrity while visiting the 82nd Air Assault Brigade with General Oleksandr Syrskyi, his top army commander.

He said that the incursion “has greatly helped” Kyiv obtain the most recent military support packages from the West, despite Ukraine’s claims that it is bringing conflict back to Russia.

“We need to motivate the whole world and convince them that Ukrainians can be stronger than the enemy,” he told the servicemen, reports RTE.
