Doctors left stunned after woman gives birth to twins 26 DAYS after giving birth to her first child

A woman has remarkably given birth to twins a mere 26 days after giving birth to her first child.

According to BBC News, the woman Arifa Sultana, from Bangladesh, stunned doctors after she presented with stomach pains on March 21st.

Sultana, who gave birth to her first son prematurely in February, was apparently found to have a rare condition known as uterus didelphys.

The condition which affects one in one thousand women, is considered fairly rare as it means that a woman has two working wombs.

Speaking to BBC News, Dr Sheila Poddar who discovered the twins, said doctors were stunned when the ultrasound showed the twins.

It is believed Sultana, 20, was previously unable to afford an ultrasound when she was pregnant with her first son.

However despite the rare scenario, both babies and their mother were allowed to leave hospital on Monday following a four day stay.
