Conservative activist and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza has taken social media by storm and earned over $1 million dollars on steaming sites in the first 12 hours after release of his new documentary ‘2000 Mules’ alleging a nationwide conspiracy of voter fraud which stole the 2020 U.S Presidential election from Donald Trump.
The documentary was also screened in some select movie theatres for the weekend of May 2nd to 4th.
The 45th U.S President himself held a special screening of the movie for his family, friends and supporters at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
Donald Trump claimed the 2020 Presidential election that a conspiracy had worked in favour of Joe Biden to make him president and oust the incumbent anti-establishment maverick and unsuccessful bids were subsequently launched in several states to overturn the official results.
Proponents of the conspiracy claim that widespread mail in voting as well as compromised voting machines were used to tip the tally in favour of Joe Biden.
Newsweek reported that the allegations made by the documentary, which fact checkers at The Associated Press and Politifact have ruled misleading or flawed, suggests that people were allegedly paid to drop off large amounts of ballots in key states. which could have swayed the election.
