Donald Trump won’t give anymore money to Ukraine if elected, says Hungary’s Orban

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban spoke with former US President Donald Trump and learned that he would not provide funding to support Ukraine in its struggle against Russia should he win the president again. This would speed the conclusion of the war.

On Friday, Mr. Orban—who is supporting his longtime ally’s attempt to retake the White House—met Mr. Trump in Florida.

“He will not give a penny into the Ukraine-Russia war and therefore the war will end,” Mr Orban told state television late yesterday, reports RTE.

“As it is obvious that Ukraine on its own cannot stand on its feet. If the Americans do not give money and weapons, and also the Europeans, then this war will be over. And if the Americans do not give money the Europeans are unable to finance this war on their own, and then the war will end,” reports RTE.

Ever since Russian soldiers invaded Ukraine in 2022, Mr. Orban has maintained strong economic relations with Russia while refusing to transfer arms to that country.

In spite of the European Union’s attempts to isolate Russia, he last saw Russian President Vladimir Putin in October while visiting China, reports RTE.
