A Donegal pub has taken measures to try and cut down on Covid-related conversations by deciding that any customer who uses the word “Covid” must pay a fine of €2.
According to RTE, the decision was taken to encourage people to chat about other things. Manager Christopher Moore says that the sum of €280 has already been collected and will be going to Donegal Hospice as a donation.
Mr Moore said that they noticed that Covid was the only thing that anyone talked about in the bar and they just wanted to make things a bit more relaxed in the bar by encouraging people to chat about something other than the pandemic.
