The Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has said that the country could see another national lockdown as the current Covid-19 situation is at tipping point.
Speaking before an Oireachtas committee on Covid-19, Donnelly said the situation is deadly serious and we’re at tipping point.
Donnelly”s comments come as he and NPHET faced open criticism from the GAA over the decision to play sports behind closed doors.
Addressing the committee Donnelly said he heard a lot of criticism towards the acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn over the decision.
However the Minister for Health defended Dr Dr Glynn saying his job is to advise the Government and save lives.
