Don’t forget the sunscreen – beaches more than likely will be packed this weekend as Met Eireann extend their status yellow warning

Thousands of people will no doubt be flocking to the beaches around the country this weekend as Met Eireann confirms they’ve extended their yellow status heatwave warning until this evening.

Although temperatures are not expected to reach the highs of earlier this week, the national forecaster say it will be still be relatively warm with temperatures expected to range between 25 to 26c in costal regions, whilst it will be between 27 to 30c in the Midlands on Saturday.

The latest update comes as the country has been in the middle of heatwave that has already brought temperatures that have reached a sweltering 27c in some parts.

The extended heat warning now means that Ireland will enter it’s sixth day of hot and humid weather following five previous days of glorious sunshine and high temperatures and likely to continue right through until Wednesday at least.
