It appears like the HSE will be working off a skeleton staff this week as up to 10,000 HSE support staff are getting ready to go on strike on Thursday after talks at the Workplace Relations Commission ended without agreement.
The SIPTU Health Division Organiser Paul Bell acknowledged that Thursday’s strike would have a dramatic impact on hospital services and patients, and described the dramatic situation as “most serious”, according to RTE.
Bell said that contingency plans are being formed by local committees who are preparing for a major national strike.
