Dr Ronan Glynn calls on young people to follow advice saying now is not the time for house parties




The acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn has called on young people to follow the current guidelines and to avoid hosting or attending house parties.

Speaking at NPHET briefing, Dr Glynn said that the hosting of house parties is not advisable as the virus is easily transmitted in such gatherings.

Dr Glynn also warned of the dangers if the virus is transmitted amongst young people as the situation could potentially get out of control and he called on everyone to keep their distance in order to protect the must vulnerable in Irish society.

He added that young people are not immune to the virus and they could become very ill if they contracted the virus which doesn’t discriminate regardless of age, gender or race.
