Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore slammed over army podcast

Irish ‘Love Island’ presenter Laura Whitmore has denied trying to recruit soldiers after being slammed by critics for appearing on a British Army podcast.

The London based celebrity, originally from Bray, drew particular backlash for juxtaposing her appearence on the military programme with a tweet commemorating John Hume, according to the Mirror.

The recently deceased activist played an integral role in the Northern Ireland peace process.

On the podcast she discussed being a woman in a male dominated industry alongside a female soldier, and later stated that it was ‘not the case at all’ that
she was trying to recuit people into the UK armed forces.
