Dr Ronan Glynn says the key message is for people to cut down on the number of people they come into contact with

The acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn has said that the key message from the latest Covid-19 restrictions is that people cut the number people who they come into contact with.

Speaking following the introduction of the latest Covid-19 restrictions, Dr Glynn said that it was highly important that people cut the number of contacts in order to stem the spread of the virus.

The acting Chief Medical Officer said by doing this people will be less likely to get the virus themselves and they would be less likely to pass it on to others.

Although Dr Glynn admitted it is not realistic for people to simply sit at home and avoid coming into contact with others, he did state that the less contacts people have would play an active role in stopping the spread of the virus.

Dr Glynn’s comments come as the Government introduced measures that will see indoor and social gatherings being cut to a limited number of people.
