The four local Dublin councils are reportedly considering the use of “modular” units in an attempt to ease the current housing crisis blighting the city.
According to the local authorities, a range of two-bedroom units would be an appropriate short-term solution. The idea would be that the occupants would move into more permanent accommodation after six months.
These modular homes woud meet building standards and would also be properly insulated.
Six models are currently on display in Dublin city centre, to be seen by charities and homeless families.
