Dublin man in court in connection with gang of leftist thugs and petty criminals who launched failed attack on National Party conference in Enniskillen




A Dublin man believed to belong to a gang of violent, leftist thugs who tried and failed to stop a National Party conference in Enniskillen last weekend with a violent attack has appeared in court in Omagh in relation to the incident.

Daniel Comerforde (34) from Mic Uilliam Heights, Dublin, appeared at Omagh Magistrates’ Court where he was charged with damaging a glass door at the Lough Erne Resort and faced charges of affray and attempted grievous bodily harm with intent.

The attack took place on Sunday when a group of masked cowards armed with knives and hammers tried to gain entry to Lough Erne Resort which was hosting the event that had women and children in attendance.

The thugs, believed to be of members of various wannabe “Republican” groups, which are known to be involved in petty crime and drug dealing, failed to stop the conference however, a number of people were injured.

wo people were treated at the scene for their injuries and four others were taken to hospital.

Comerforde appeared in court on Tuesday via videolink and a PSNI detective constable connected the accused to the charges.

Defence solicitor John Finucane said there was no application for bail but indicated one would be made later in the week the Irish Examiner reported.
