The forecast for blue skies and sunshine proved incorrect earlier today with many Dubliners sending photographs of immense contrails that appeared to be linger and spread across the sky.
The strange, long lasting contrails first began to appear around 7 AM and then abruptly stopped around 8AM. They lingered much longer than would be expect and spread out causing a haze.
Most bizarrely air traffic over Dublin has not been much heavier or lighter than it has in the past several days, but these contrails have not been seen.
The appearance of these mysterious contrails has fueled speculation, with some suggesting that something is being sprayed in the skies over Dublin.
