A 37-yr-old Dutch national, on holidays in Barcelona has died after his car key got stuck in his throat.
The unidentified man entered the store on Riera de Cassoles Avenue in Barcelona city centre ‘in an evident state of excitement’ according to the Metro.
It is still not known why the man had his car keys in his mouth. Supermarket staff called Guàrdia Urbana police officers who restrained the man but he collapsed and lost consciousness. Reports said they managed to make him cough out the car key and the man was rushed to Hospital where he died hours later.
The investigation is ongoing.
