The Minister for Education Norma Foley has said she will advocate for teachers interests in terms of receiving a potential Covid-19 vaccine, but stated that any decisions will be made by public health officials.
Speaking to RTE News, Foley said she would certainly be advocating for teachers interests as they have have given their all whilst working on the frontline.
However she said even though she will be advocating for teachers she will ultimately bow to public health and their decisions.
Foley’s comments come after the INTO called on teachers and those who work in education to be given priority for any potential vaccine.
