Regarding the reported group rape of a minor British visitor at a Magaluf hotel, eight men have been prosecuted. Seven Frenchmen and a Swiss citizen are among the suspects being held on remand in prison in Majorca or on the Spanish peninsula. It is anticipated that they will stay incarcerated until their trial, reports The Mirror.

As the allegations were verified, more information about the alleged horrible assault that occurred on the 18-year-old in August of last year surfaced overnight.

Reliability Majorcan daily Diario de Mallorca said that after a protracted inquiry following the gruesome crime, the female investigating judge came to the conclusion that at least five of the men alternated in raping their supposed victim while the other three sexually attacked her.

After her claimed assailants took advantage of her alcohol-induced “state of semi-consciousness” and stripped her nude in a room at the BH Mallorca Resort in Magaluf in the early hours of August 14 of last year, it was said that she discovered the tourist had also been spit on, beaten, insulted, and bottom-whipped, reports The Mirror.

The British girl is reported to have been videotaped by the men using their phones while they egged each other throughout the “half-hour” of depravity, and the films were uploaded to a “well-known social media network.”

According to Diario de Mallorca, the examining judge discovered proof that one of the suspects had filmed five movies lasting 142 seconds and fourteen recordings lasting 170 seconds.

Three of the men are accused of sexual assault, and five of the men are accused of rape. In addition, maltreatment and privacy offences connected to the release of the cell phone footage are among the other allegations brought.

The men’s trial date has not yet been announced, and it was unclear this morning if the men’s prosecutors or the attorneys for the accused victim had already stated the length of jail terms they would want to see the men serve should they be found guilty as charged, reports The Mirror.

Not long after the alleged gang-rape, six suspects—five Frenchmen and a Swiss citizen, ages 18 to 26—were brought into jail in Majorca. Two more were later extradited and detained in France according to a European Arrest Warrant granted by a Spanish judge.

According to reports at the time, one of the suspects allegedly went out into a hotel hallway after “sexually attacking” the British girl in order to urge strangers returning from their own night out to have “free sex” with her. Three of the suspects had reportedly met the youngster hours earlier while partying in Magaluf, reports The Mirror.

Following the British teenager’s tragedy, the BH Mallorca Resort claimed it was completely assisting the authorities and extended its support to the unidentified vacationer.

A spokesman said in a statement at the time: “The BH Mallorca Resort deeply regrets what has happened and would like to manifest its firm and forceful repudiation of the alleged sexual attack that occurred in the early hours of Monday August 14 at the hotel,” reports The Mirror.

“The hotel also wants to demonstrate its solidarity with the alleged victim of this aggression. We are co-operating fully with the Civil Guard and its investigators in everything they consider to be necessary. This hotel ratifies through this statement its commitment to the condemnation of all types of sexual attacks that affect peoples’ dignity and physical integrity. Behaviour that undermines those rights has no place in this establishment,” reports The Mirror.

“Officers saw early on the complexity of the investigation, as the alleged aggressors didn’t form part of the same group of friends but encouraged by other participants, had allegedly joined the group action in sporadic acts, meaning no type of relationship existed between them.”

A police official stated, “The probe continued in order to identify the two young men whose arrests were pending,” confirming that the first six suspects had been detained and placed under remand in custody on the day of the alleged sex crime. Officers found out after they were identified that they had flown to Baden-Baden in Germany in order to go to their houses in the vicinity of Strasbourg,” reports The Mirror.

Additionally, it was reported that the first suspect in the Magaluf gang rape case was taken into custody when Spanish police forced him to answer the British teen’s allegedly “stolen” cell phone. Reputable Majorcan daily Ultima Hora stated in the days following the event that the French kid picked up the phone and then proceeded to the lobby of the hotel where the alleged sex attack occurred with two friends on vacation, without knowing they would be met by the adolescent and investigators helping her.

After the 18-year-old provided police their descriptions, all three were immediately apprehended, and the other three suspects were tracked down over the next few hours, reports The Mirror.
