Elderly Dublin woman who was discharged from hospital whilst being homeless is found emergency accommodation




An elderly woman who was found outside Dublin’s GPO after being discharged from hospital, has been given emergency accommodation it has been revealed.

According to RTÉ News, it is understood the homeless woman aged in her 80s was found by volunteers from Reaching Out for Homeless sitting outside the GPO on O’Connell Street at around 9.30pm on Thursday.

The woman aged in her 80s is apparently known to staff at the charity and was reportedly discharged from St James’s Hospital earlier that day.

According to Dublin City Councillor Christy Burke, the woman has since been found emergency accommodation at Dublin Hotel whilst a more permanent solution can be found.
