Varadkar: “They’re a lovely couple and I understand their decision – Taoiseach weighs in on Harry and Meghan

They’re the talk of every social column in the world – Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are going to split their time between the UK and North America.

The decision also involves stepping back from the public as ‘senior members of the Royal family’ – something that insiders say the Queen and Prince Charles are utterly devastated and angry that the couple posted their decision on social media before all details were ironed out.

The Sun reports that following a Cabinet meeting in Dublin, the Taoiseach described Prince Harry and Meghan as a lovely couple and said that he understands why they made their decision.

He said: “I have met them and they are a lovely couple. I have to say I really enjoyed meeting them.

“They are very down to Earth. But I can totally understand given each of their different life experiences why they would like to have more privacy and why they would like to be able to raise their family in their way.

“I think any normal person could understand why they have taken the decision they have made so I wish them the very best.”
