Tragedy struck in the small community of Ballinful, Co. Sligo, last night.
A local farmer, named as Pat Doherty, was found dead along with his pet dog at his property after a fire razed the premises.
The man’s body was removed to Sligo General Hospital.
The fire is believed to have started accidentally.
