A 64-year-old farmer had to be airlifted to hospital this evening after sustaining serious injuries when a steel gate fell on top of him.
The incident happened in Macroom, Co. Cork. It is understood a bull kicked the gate, which became unhinged and fell on top of the man.
The farmer was rushed to hospital, where he remains in a serious condition tonight.
