An elderly man has died in a house fire in the south of the country.
The incident happened in Connolly Park, Ballyphehane, Cork, early this morning.
The man was taken to Cork University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
It is understood that the fire is not being treated as ‘suspicious.’
