One of the country’s biggest electric companies Electric Ireland has warned its costumers to be on the look out for any suspicious emails, after they have confirmed they have been informed of a phishing scam targeting some of its customers.
Management at the company have advised costumers not to respond to any suspicious emails which asks them for their bank details and scan their passport. The cause for concern comes after a number of costumers have received emails claiming to be from Electric ireland, saying they were entitled to a refund.
A spokesperson for Electric Ireland has said the company did not send the emails and are advising anyone who received it not to click on the link or reply.
