European Parliament are considering introducing new regulations which would see restrictions being placed on social media websites to protect teenagers

According to a number of reports it is believed that the European Parliament are considering introducing new regulations which would see restrictions being placed on social media websites to protect teenagers under the age of 16.

It is understood the issue will be discussed between European Parliament ministers before a vote is held on Thursday. If the new laws were to be introduced it would mean that young teenagers would need parental consent to join any social media websites.

However many has questioned the ruling saying they cannot see how such laws could be enforced without breaking privacy laws.
