Social media giant Facebook has announced that users in Ireland will soon have control over data gathered through online activity on third-party websites.
Users’ online activity is continuously monitored and some of this data is sent to Facebook so the app displays ads that may be relevant to the user, based on their browsing history.
According to Facebook, users will soon have the option to view and remove some or all of their data collected by ‘off-Facebook’ sites for advertising or other purposes.
