Not all 8,250 homeless people were fed last night in the GPO, but at least 240 were – it’s something, at least.
The Defence Forces worked tirelessly to convert the General Post Office into a ballroom gala-type party venue for 240 homeless people who had tickets to the annual affair.
The event was organised by the Dublin Lions Club and food was provided by The Iveagh Trust and the Capuchin Day Centre. They then served a three-course meal followed by a party with two bands playing – and a very special appearance from U2’s Larry Mullen Jr.
The dinner is said to have been a great success with everyone enjoying themselves and partying the night away.
Well done to all concerned.
