Fancy A Pint: Guinness opens brand new ‘experimental’ bar at its headquarters in Dublin

The Guinness Brewery have opened a new bar/brewery at its headquarters in Dublin recently.

The new hotspot named the Open Gate Brewery at St. James’s Gate opened its doors to the public yesterday so that brewers can explore fine selection of new recipes on offer. Although the traditional recipes will also be on offer, along with Hop House 13 Lager, Dublin Porter, West Indies Porter, as well as a range of small batch experimental beers.

The new brewery was opened by Diageo’s global head of beer Mark Sandys who was excited by the project saying that many tipples which have not been available to date in Ireland, such as Guinness Nitro IPA, will now also be exclusively available in the bar. “People are becoming more interested in beer and the stories behind it, and The Open Gate Brewery gives these people the freedom to experiment and find new tastes.”

The new brewery is conveniently located in the secret little door beside the main entrance on James’s Street and is open on Thursdays and Fridays for bookings between 5.30pm and 10.30pm.
