A male believed to be in his 30s was shot dead this morning in Clonard St., Balbriggan, north Dublin. A female also received a gunshot wound to the upper thigh during the incident.
The scene has been preserved pending a Garda technical examination.
There has been a spate of violent crimes in the Dublin area over the past week.
