Fifteen members of the Gardai are questioned over claims that they did not prosecute certain people caught offending on the roads

Officers from the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation have questioned up to fifteen members of the Gardai over claims that a number of prosecutions were not followed up properly, or were dismissed altogether.

The dismissed prosecutions were allegedly linked to members of the GAA.

A number of searches were carried out at Garda stations around the south of the country and computer and other material was seized as part of the investigation.
