File being sent to DPP following an alleged sexual assault in Bon Secours Hospital in Tralee




Gardaí have confirmed that a file has been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions after a rape allegation was reported at the Bon Secours Hospital in Tralee.

The file is being prepared after a woman aged in her early 60s was allegedly sexually assaulted by a member of staff after a medical procedure was conducted.

It us understood the staff member attacked the woman in a dressing room when she was changing into her clothes following her procedure.

Kerry’s Chief Superintendent Garda Con Cadogan confirmed the file is being prepared and they are currently waiting for forensic results.

The alleged attacker a man, who is believed to be married and and a foreign national was employed on a temporary basis by the hospital at the time of the incident.

The staff member has since been suspended by the hospital and is now thought to have fled the country since.
