Fine Gael’s Yemi Adenuga becomes the first black female Councillor elected in Ireland

Ireland has many changed Councils across the country after last week’s local elections.

Perhaps one of the most diverse Councils will be that of the new Navan, Co. Meath Council that sees Fine Gael candidate Yemi Adenuga elected as Ireland’s first black female Councillor.

The Fine Gael woman, who was on GoggleBox Ireland, only came to Ireland in the last number of years but managed to get some 600+ first preference votes in her constituency to land her new job.

The newly elected Fine Gael Councillor’s election has been reported around the world in various news sites.

She says she intends to work on her local community and what’s best for them.
