Five more arrested in connection with murder of Belfast man

Five teenagers have been arrested in connection with the murder of Christopher Meli on Saturday in Belfast.

The five suspects were detained on Tuesday night – two of the teenagers are male and three are female.

Two females and one male are aged 17-year-old, while the other male and female are 16.

The 20-year-old was beaten to death by a group of approximately 20 people in an area called Docs Lane in West Belfast.

Prior to this, three male teenagers, two aged and 18 and one aged 16, were remanded in custody after appearing at Lisburn Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday charged with the murder of the father of one.

Two other male teenagers who were arrested on Sunday, aged 18 and 17, have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
