Police in the US state of Illinois have confirmed that five people have been killed and several police officers have been injured following a shooting incident at a warehouse near Chicago.
According to reports in the US, the five people were killed after the gunman who has been identified as Gary Martin, opened fire at the warehouse in Aurora, at approximately 2pm local time on Friday.
Police investigating the incident say six officers were injured during the incident, with five of those sustaining gunshot wounds.
They also say Mr Martin, 45, was also killed in the incident.
Although police have yet to identify Mr Martin’s motive for the attack, reports in the US say Mr Martin’s mother revealed that he had been stressed out after he was let go from his job Henry Platt factory just over two weeks ago.
