Former FIFA officials Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini have been charged with fraud following a 6-year long investigation.
The charges arose after FIFA made a payment of ‘backdated salary’ to Platini in 2002. The payment, which was authorized by Blatter, amounted to £1.6m.
The men could now be sent to trial.
