Four Gardai reportedly sustained slight injuries after their cars were rammed by a vehicle carrying three burglars.
The vehicle, a 4×4, failed to stop at a checkpoint setup in Cloncourse, Portlaoise. It rammed a marked Garda car and then collided with a second Garda vehicle. The occupants fled on foot, but were arrested a short time later.
The arrests are part of an ongoing operation to tackle rural crime.
