According to Breaking News, as part of a salary dispute, Northern Ireland’s public transportation employees have scheduled four more days of strike action for February.

Unite, GMB, and Siptu said in a joint statement that the first walkout will occur on Thursday, February 1.

No additional dates have been revealed as of yet.

The bus and train workers’ demands that Secretary of State for Northern Ireland Chris Heaton-Harris provide cash for public transport services and allow a cost-of-living wage increase are considered a “further escalation in the industrial action,” according to the unions, reports Breaking News.

Workers in public transport were among those who participated in last week’s widespread industrial action in the North.

Before Christmas, there were several days of strike action by train and bus drivers, which resulted in the suspension of Translink services, reports Breaking News.
