Three beagles have been rescued from a mine shaft between Leap and Glandore, Co Cork. A fourth beagle is still missing.
It is believed that the four beagels were trapped after falling into the mine shaft on Monday while hunting with their owner.
Toe head coast gaurds came onto the scene and were able to rescure three of the four hounds who went missing.
Two members of the Toe head coast gaurd were lowered deep into the shaft and was able to reach the other dogs but the last one ran deeper into the mine.
Efforts to save the fourth beagel is still underway.
