France’s parliament considers the use of drones by police

The French deputies are examining a bill on criminal liability and national security, which will create a long-awaited legal framework for the use of drones by the police.

Maybe the second time will be the charm as in May, the Constitutional Council rejected the provisions of the drone law to preserve liberties of the French people. However, the government forwarded a new version to parliament. Justice Minister Eric Dupont-Moretti appeared before the Judicial Commission to present the new project. The debate is ongoing.

What do you think? Would you like to see gardai using drones in Ireland or do you think it would impinge on people’s liberties?
