Met Eireann is predicting a freezing cold weekend as winter conditions return.
The last few days were dull and wet, but remained relatively mild for the time of year. All that’s changing today, however, as temperatures are set to plummet to -2C by tonight, and probably -3C or -4C on Sunday night.
The only good news is that the next 48 hours will remain mostly dry, with just the odd light shower around northern and eastern areas.
