The freezing weather spell appears set to abate for now, as Met Eireann is forecasting warmer but more unsettled conditions forecast for the coming week.

Today, Sunday, will be a cold and dull day, with outbreaks of rain across the west and northwest of the country. Sunday night will remain cold, but temperatures should remain above freezing.

The first half of the coming week is expected to be relatively warmer, with daytime temperatures reaching double digits, but there will be a lot of rain too.
