A member of An Gardai is receiving medical treatment in hospital today after he shot himself in the foot.
The trained armed officer is understood to accidentally blown a small hole in his foot after he accidentally managed to let off his firearm and shoot himself in his foot late on Thursday.
The Limerick-based garda is currently staying in hospital and may possibly need surgery to repair his injury.
